Bolsa Chica is a coastal estuary that hosts up to 200 different avian species. The reserve is located just off Highway 1 near Huntington Beach, California. It was my pleasure to encounter species that I can not find in Texas - Allen’s Hummingbird, Ridgway’s Rail, Royal Tern, Western Grebe and Western Sandpiper.
